Empowering communities through agribusiness training! Hon. Joycelyn Quashie launches comprehensive programme in mushroom farming, gari & rice processing for North Dayi constituents

Hon. Joycelyn Quashie, Member of Parliament for North Dayi, under her Agrogrowth Project, partnered with experts in agriculture and agribusiness to launch a comprehensive training programme for 250 constituents in mushroom farming and processing. The three-month pilot programme also includes modules in gari and rice processing, designed to equip participants with practical and employable skills.
As part of the initiative, participants are being provided with basic Personal Protective Equipment which include Wellington boots, overcoats, gloves, and sanitizers as well as a monthly stipend to support them throughout their training.
In her remarks at the opening session, the MP encouraged participants to take the training seriously, emphasising that the knowledge and skills they acquire will position them for sustainable income generation. She further reaffirmed her commitment to supporting trainees beyond the classroom by helping to secure buyers for their products once they begin production.
The programme, which is currently being implemented in Awate, Wusuta, and Tsrukpe as a pilot, is expected to be expanded to cover the other traditional areas in North Dayi by October this year.
