Some doom prophecies about celebrities are made by pastors because of their stomachs – Minister OJ

Legendary Ghanaian gospel musician, Minister OJ, has shared his thoughts on the surge of celebrity-related prophecies in Ghana, cautioning the public to exercise discernment in accepting or reacting to such revelations.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben Drive with Fante Quoo, the award-winning artist stated plainly.
“Some of the prophecies about celebrities are made by pastors because of their stomachs, and some are also genuine. So it’s up to you to act upon and investigate.
Minister OJ’s remark is a bold critique of what he perceives as a growing trend of opportunistic prophecy within parts of the Christian community, particularly targeting public figures. According to him, while prophecy remains a legitimate and powerful tool in Christianity, some individuals in clerical robes use it for personal gain, “because of their stomachs,” implying hunger for fame, influence, or financial benefit.
Minister OJ emphasized the need for believers and the general public to test the spirit behind every so-called prophecy, referencing biblical principles.
He stressed that while some prophetic declarations are authentic and divinely inspired, others may be carefully crafted to manipulate public attention, exploit vulnerable celebrities, or drive media trends.
In recent years, several Ghanaian entertainers, from musicians and actors to footballers, have found themselves at the center of viral prophetic claims, some of which predict death, disgrace, or sudden elevation. While some take the messages seriously and seek spiritual counsel, others have dismissed them outright or questioned the motives behind such public pronouncements.
He also seemed to caution young believers and public figures not to let fear or manipulation guide their decisions. Instead, he encouraged spiritual maturity and reliance on God’s word.
