“No Fee Stress Policy” : 150k students accessed portal, 34k validated, 15k received payment

Ghana’s President H.E John Dramani Mahama has officially launched a ground-breaking “No Fee Stress Policy” aimed at removing financial barriers to tertiary education. In a significant milestone.

Speaking at the launch in Koforidua, President Mahama disclosed that, 150,000 students have already accessed the policy’s portal, with 34,500 students validated and 15,000 receiving payment alerts.

“ Mr. Chairman, as we were told, 150 1000 students have so far accessed the portal. And for those of you who have not accessed the portal, you better start doing so now. Out of this, 34,500 have been validated and awaiting payments. And out of that number, as at yesterday, 15,000 students had received their alerts for payment,” President Mahama said.

He reiterated that the policy’s key objective is to ensure that no Ghanaian student is denied entry into tertiary education due to financial constraints.

President Mahama emphasized this commitment, stating, “From today, no Ghanaian child will be denied entry into tertiary education simply because they cannot afford the academic fee.”

This initiative represents a major step towards making higher education more accessible and equitable for Ghanaian youth, potentially transforming educational opportunities for thousands of students across the country.

He however urged students to access the portal and complete their registration to benefit from this ground-breaking policy.
