Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s journey this season has taken a decisive turn, as head coach Abdul Karim Zito declares his side has “one leg” in the MTN FA Cup trophy after their impressive victory over Berekum Chelsea in the semi-finals. With this win, the Porcupine Warriors have sealed their place in the FA Cup final, and the team’s ambition doesn’t stop there.

Speaking after the match, Coach Zito expressed his delight at the hard-fought win and outlined the team’s growing confidence. “One of our legs is now in the FA Cup,” he said, acknowledging how close the team is to lifting the prestigious domestic trophy. The coach, however, was quick to stress that the job isn’t done yet. “We are going all out,” he continued, “not just for the FA Cup, but also to ensure we win the league.”

With just four matches remaining in the Ghana Premier League, Kotoko are firmly in the title race. Zito believes that the momentum from their cup run can serve as a springboard for a final push toward a league and cup double  a feat that would underline Kotoko’s dominance in Ghanaian football this season.

“We are focused and determined,” Zito affirmed. “The boys are motivated, and we know what is at stake. Every game from now on is a final for us.”

The coach also praised his players for their discipline and resilience, especially against a tough Berekum Chelsea side. He urged fans to keep believing and supporting the team as they chase glory on both fronts.

Kotoko’s path to double is now clearer than ever, but the pressure is just as high. With both the FA Cup and league title within reach, the next few weeks promise to be decisive for the club’s season — and possibly historic.
