Forward Jerry Afriyie returns to the Black Satellite camp ahead of the Egypt clash

CD Lugo forward Jerry Afriyie has rejoined the Black Satellites camp ahead of their crucial quarter-final clash against host nation Egypt in the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025.
Afriyie left the national camp on Tuesday to fulfil club duties with his Spanish side, CD Lugo, in a league fixture an agreement between the Ghana Football Association and the club before the tournament’s start.
Afriyie was in superb and excellent form as he scored and also provided an assist for Club Deportivo Lugo in their hard-fought 2:2 away draw with Gimnastic FC.
They came from 2 goals down to earn a point.
He has now scored three goals and provided 2 assists.
The 19-year-old striker is back and available for selection as Ghana prepares to face Egypt on Monday.
Afriyie has already made his impact in the competition, featuring as a substitute in Ghana’s opening group match and playing the full 90 minutes in their second game against Senegal.
Ghana will be facing host Nation Egypt at the Suez Stadium on Monday, as kick-off time scheduled at exactly 15:00 GMT.
The winner of the crucial quarterfinal encounter will automatically secure a slot for the 2025 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Chile.
