We should have won – Kotoko Coach, Abdul Karim Zito after 0-0 with Hearts

Kotoko’s interim coach, Abdul Karim Zito has expressed both frustration and contentment over the result vs Hearts of Oak last Sunday in Accra.
Speaking to the press after the highly anticipated Super Clash, which ended in a 0-0 draw, Zito admitted that his side had enough chances to win but ultimately lacked the finishing touch.
“We should have won,” Zito said bluntly. “We squandered quite a lot of chances, and in a game like this, if you don’t take your opportunities, you suffer. But we are okay with the point.” He said.
Kotoko created several clear-cut chances, especially in the second half, but poor finishing and some resolute defending from Hearts kept the Porcupine Warriors from finding the back of the net.
Zito praised his players for their fighting spirit and tactical discipline but pointed to wastefulness in front of goal as the main reason they failed to secure all three points.
The draw leaves Kotoko still adjusting under the temporary stewardship of Zito, who stepped in after a turbulent period that saw changes in the technical bench. Despite the result, Zito believes the team is moving in the right direction and praised the players for their effort in such a high-pressure fixture.
Kotoko currently lies 4th on the league log with 51 points, with 4 games to go, while Hearts of Oak are on the 6th position with 46 points.
