The 2025 NDC budget is a ‘sheege’ budget, Anyone with an accounting background knows it is not real” – Kennedy Kankam

Kennedy Kankam, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has strongly criticized the 2025 budget proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), calling it “unachievable” and unrealistic.

Kankam’s critique centers on his belief that the projections and financial allocations outlined in the budget are not grounded in reality, suggesting that anyone with a solid understanding of accounting and financial planning would quickly recognize the discrepancies.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Kennedy Kankam pointed out several key aspects of the NDC’s 2025 budget that he believes cannot be realized. According to Kankam, the budget’s optimistic projections, especially concerning revenue generation and expenditure management, are far from practical.

“Anyone with an accounting background knows that what is being presented is not real. The figures don’t add up. If you look at the revenue targets and the anticipated inflow, it’s clear that the NDC is either underestimating the challenges ahead or, worse, intentionally misleading the public,” Kankam stated.
