President-elect Mahama forms a 5-member team for anti-corruption drive
John Dramani Mahama, the president-elect, has formed a committee to collect and accept public evidence on alleged corruption.
A press release signed by the Mahama Transition Team Spokesperson on Wednesday, December 18, states that the newly established organization will act as a channel for individuals to report issues pertaining to corruption.
President-elect Mahama’s commitment to combating corruption holistically and guaranteeing the responsible management of public resources was emphasized in the statement.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu Member of Parliament, serves as the team’s chair. Notable people including retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, private attorney Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer are among the other members.
It is anticipated that their combined experience would increase this anti-corruption campaign’s efficacy.
The statement claims that this development is a part of a larger initiative by the Mahama government to bolster institutions tasked with fighting corruption and rebuild public trust.
