“Ogum is the problem” – Chief Kotoko supporter Commander Griffix publicly calls for Ogum to resign or get sacked
Chief Asante Kotoko supporter Commander Griffix, has publicly called for the resignation of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, describing him as the “problem” affecting the team’s performance.
Commander Griffix speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action with Joe Laka after Kotoko’s 0-2 defeat vs Nations FC stressed that the time is up for Ogum to leave.
Despite Ogum’s success in leading Kotoko to the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League title, recent performances have seen the team struggle with consistency, leading to mounting pressure on the coach.
Supporters have voiced frustration over the team’s inability to break down opponents, especially in home fixtures where the club has historically been dominant. The Porcupine Warriors have dropped crucial points against lower-ranked teams, and many believe that the squad’s tactical setup under Ogum has been too rigid and predictable, which has made them vulnerable to counterattacks and defensive lapses.
Kotoko has gone 5 games without a win and lost four consecutively in the last four games leaving the team in the 8th position with 15 points after matchday 11.
At this stage, the future of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains uncertain. While some fans, like Commander Griffix, are calling for change, others believe the club should maintain faith in its coach and allow him to work through the issues that have affected the team.
Chief Commander Griffix’s outspoken criticism of Coach Ogum reflects the frustrations of many Kotoko fans who feel that the team is underperforming and not living up to its potential.
