Imani’s Franklin Cudjoe espouses Napo’s competency and professionalism
The President of Imani, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe on Thursday, 27th June, 2024 whilst commenting on the nomination of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as the New Patriotic Party’s running mate for the 2024 presidential election emphasized on Dr. Prempeh’s Professionalism and Competency over the years.
Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, recounted his experience with Napo during the latter’s role as a ranking member of the health committee under President Evans Attah Mills. The Imani President stated that: “I do know, however, that he can be serious when he wants to – I admired his professionalism when he was ranking member of the health committee in Parliament under the late Atta Mills. l had been invited to appear before the health committee meeting he was chairing to testify on certain aspects of the public health bill that was inimical to civil liberties. Eventually, the bill was passed.”
The President of Imani also touched on Dr. Matthew Prempeh’s open door approach to policy implementation, as well as his involvement of civil society on policy issues (inclusiveness).
According to Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, he was part of a small group Dr. Opoku Prempeh invited to meet over how he intended to roll out the free SHS promise after being named the first education minister in 2017. According to him It was a difficult conversation especially when there was no policy paper to guide the implementation of the programme. But Dr. Opoku Prempeh pummelled through the implementation amidst the imperfections.
Meanwhile, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe ceased the opportunity to wish Dr. Napo and his boss, Dr. Bawumia well in their bid to win the presidency come 7th December. Breaking the 8 is possible with this perfect pair.
