Asantehene’s 25th Anniversary: There is no ban on funerals – Planning Committee

The planning committee of the Asantehene’s 25th Anniversary celebrations has reiterated that there will be no ban on funerals as being speculated by a section of the public.

Ahead of the celebration which marks the 25th anniversary of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu the 2nd, it was rumored that funerals would be barred before and during the celebration but a member of the planning committee completely debunked the false reports.

Ing. Atta Poku speaking on Kessben TV’s Breaking News with Kwasi Ntiamoah stressed that there would be no ban on funerals before, during, and after the celebration which is scheduled to start in February 2024 with a variety of long-held activities and celebrations that will span to May 2024.

Highlights of the activities would be a symposium and durbar that will be held in commemoration of the Sagrenti war.

Otumfuo’s silver jubilee, which falls in April will be held in a grand celebration of the industrious reign of His Majesty.
