The Black Stars can only succeed if the local game and the local Black Stars succeed – Thomas Duah
Former AshantiGold SC coach Thomas Duah believes that the senior national football team, the Black Stars, can only succeed if the players of the Ghana premier league do well and succeed at the CHAN.
The Black Stars of Ghana, long a dominant force in African football, have not won the Africa Cup of Nations in 41 years.
Thomas Duah speaking on Kessben TV stressed that if Ghana wants to end the trophy drought, more focus should be turned to the local game.
According to the ex-soccer player if the local game is able to produce quality players that will feed the CHAN team and the Black Stars, the Black Stars will get back their glory days.
Ghana last won the Africa cup of Nations in 1982. Ghana won their fourth and final AFCON title, defeating Libya 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 deadlock.
