Kotoko coach storms out of interview after Tamale City draw
Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo refused to take all his questions after a 1-1 draw against Tamale City on Wednesday.
It was the Porcupines’ third game without a win as they gave away the lead a few minutes from stoppage time. The Porcupines had previously drawn goalless with league leaders Aduana Stars before salvaging a point in the dying embers of their clash with Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.
In Wednesday’s encounter with Tamale City, Kotoko went in front through an own goal by Issah Nyaabila in the 84th minute but the Tamale-based side fought back to level in the 86th minute thanks to Ibrahim Babamu’s goal.
The disappointed Burkinabe trainer could not help but storm out of the post-match interview following his side’s uninspiring performance as explained by his interpreter.
Before walking away Zerbo in a dispiriting manner said: “We have drawn three consecutive matches and this is due to individual mistakes from the defence. We are leading let’s say 6 minutes to the end of the game and we lost concentration and they had an equalizer.”.
The defending champions continue their search for a win in another difficult venue when they visit Gold Stars at Duns Park next Monday.
