The Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG) has officially opened nominations for individuals seeking to contest as the party’s Presidential and Parliamentary Candidates ahead of the next general elections.

The announcement, issued by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on July 7, 2026, said the nomination exercise forms part of PAG’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy and providing qualified members with the opportunity to contest for leadership positions.

According to the party, nominations opened on Tuesday, July 7, and will close on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the close of business. The NEC urged all interested aspirants to complete the nomination process within the stipulated period, stressing that late submissions or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The party explained that the exercise is being conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana, the relevant provisions of Ghana’s Political Parties Act, as well as the regulations and guidelines of the Electoral Commission governing the nomination and election of political party candidates.

PAG said it remains committed to promoting democratic participation, transparency, merit, inclusiveness and equal opportunity, adding that the nomination process is open to qualified members of the party and eligible Ghanaian men and women who meet the constitutional, statutory and party requirements to contest for the offices of President or Member of Parliament.

Prospective aspirants are expected to obtain the prescribed nomination and application forms from the party’s official website and submit all required documents before the deadline.

The party further encouraged individuals who share its vision of building “a prosperous, just, united and progressive Ghana” to take advantage of the opportunity and participate in what it described as a historic democratic process.

The announcement was signed and issued by the National Executive Committee of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana.
