Gov’t commits to infrastructure upgrades and land protection for Achimota School – Julius Debrah

The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Achimota School through critical infrastructure improvements and the protection of its lands as the institution marks its centenary celebrations.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah gave the assurance while representing President John Dramani Mahama at the Achimota School Fundraising Dinner, Fashion Gala and the launch of the Achimota Centenary Cloth.
Addressing the gathering , Mr. Debrah said the government would work closely with the school’s authorities and the Old Achimotan Association to address key development priorities and preserve the institution’s legacy.
“On behalf of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, I reaffirmed Government’s commitment to working closely with the school and the Old Achimotan Association to address key issues relating to infrastructure, development and the protection of Achimota’s lands for future generations,” he said.
He announced that approval had been granted for works to improve the road network within the school, describing the project as part of broader interventions aimed at strengthening the learning environment and enhancing the school’s infrastructure.
“I was also pleased to announce that approval has been granted for works to improve the road network within the school, alongside other interventions aimed at strengthening the learning environment and preserving the proud legacy of this great institution,” Mr. Debrah stated.
Reflecting on Achimota School’s 100-year journey, the Chief of Staff described the Black and Gold as a symbol of excellence, discipline, leadership and service, noting that the institution has produced generations of leaders, innovators, professionals, creatives and public servants who have contributed significantly to Ghana and beyond.
As an Old Achimotan himself, Mr. Debrah said the occasion served as a reminder that Achimota is more than an educational institution, describing it as a historic national asset that has shaped the lives of countless individuals over the past century.
He called on alumni and stakeholders to continue supporting the school through active participation and generosity to ensure its continued growth and preserve its heritage for future generations.
