Col. K. S. Appiah Takes Over as NAIMOS Director of Operations in Routine Command Rotation

Col. Dominic Buah hands over to new appointee as part of strategic measures to enhance operational efficiency

Colonel K. S. Appiah has officially assumed duty as the new Director of Operations for the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), following a brief handover ceremony with his predecessor, Colonel Dominic Buah.

The transition took place moments ago and was described by NAIMOS as part of routine strategic rotations designed to strengthen command structures and enhance operational efficiency in the fight against illegal mining.

Colonel Dominic Buah, who has served in the Director of Operations role, handed over responsibilities to Col. Appiah in accordance with military tradition. The ceremony was attended by senior officers and staff of the Operations Directorate.

NAIMOS authorities said the rotation aligns with the Secretariat’s standard practice of periodic leadership changes to bring fresh perspectives, maintain institutional continuity, and ensure operations remain responsive to evolving challenges in curbing galamsey.

Col. K. S. Appiah now assumes responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational planning, deployment, and execution activities under NAIMOS.

No further details on Col. Appiah’s immediate priorities were disclosed during the handover. NAIMOS noted that such rotations are regular and not linked to any specific operational incident.
