300 Ghanaians Evacuated from South Africa: Let’s take back their shops in Ghana – Hon. Kwadwo Bediako Banahene

Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nsuta, Hon. Kwadwo Bediako Banahene, has called for tougher measures against South African businesses operating in Ghana following recurring xenophobic attacks on Ghanaians in South Africa.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Hon. Banahene reacted to reports that about 300 Ghanaians were evacuated from South Africa due to attacks targeting foreign nationals. He expressed concern over the safety of Ghanaians living and working in the country.
According to him, Ghana must take a firm stance to protect its citizens and send a strong message to South Africa over the treatment of Ghanaians abroad.
“Let’s also take back their shops in Ghana. It will make them stop what they are doing to Ghanaians there,” he stated during the discussion.
Hon. Banahene argued that stronger economic and diplomatic responses may help discourage further attacks and force authorities in South Africa to address the issue more seriously. He also urged African leaders to intensify efforts to promote unity and protect citizens across the continent.
