Leading communications from an opposition is not easy at all, NPP have to learn from how NDC reward communicators when they come to power – Krobea Nana Asante

George Krobea Asante, Deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has acknowledged the formidable challenges faced while steering communications from the position of opposition.
Speaking with on Kessben FM Accra, he underscored the need for the party to rethink its approach and draw lessons from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly how communicators were rewarded when the NDC regained power after the December 7, 2024 elections.
He pointed out that while the ruling government receives ample airtime, funding, and public attention, opposition communicators struggle to project their messages and keep party morale high.
Krobea Asante specifically identified how the NDC demonstrated a stronger internal framework for rewarding and recognizing its communications team after their 2024 electoral victory.
He urged the NPP to adopt similar measures, both in material terms and acknowledgment, to boost morale, loyalty, and effectiveness of its communicators during opposition seasons.
