Don’t allow yourself to be used, the best sacrifice you can make is the one that benefits you. Add value to yourself, and treat yourself good – Sofo Kankam

On Thursday’s edition of Kessben FM’s popular dawn motivational show, Food for Thoughts, Pastor Kankam shared powerful words of wisdom that left listeners reflecting deeply on the importance of self-care and self-worth. Speaking candidly about personal growth, boundaries, and the value of one’s time and energy, Pastor Kankam delivered an inspiring message that urged individuals not to allow themselves to be exploited for the sake of others.

He pointed out that a true sacrifice is one that also benefits the person making the sacrifice. “The best sacrifice you can make is one that adds value to you,” Pastor Kankam explained. “When you focus on improving yourself, cultivating your skills, and nurturing your spirit, you will be better equipped to help others in the long run.”

He encouraged listeners to identify areas in their lives that need improvement and to make conscious efforts to enhance those aspects. By taking the time to invest in self-care, whether it’s through learning new skills, setting boundaries, or engaging in activities that foster personal well-being, one becomes more capable of giving meaningful contributions to others.

Another core aspect of Pastor Kankam’s message was the importance of treating oneself with respect and kindness. Often, people neglect their own needs while caring for others, forgetting that self-love and self-care are essential for long-term fulfillment and success.

“Treat yourself well, because if you don’t, no one else will,” Pastor Kankam stated. “The energy you put into treating yourself with kindness, respect, and care will reflect in the way others treat you and the way you approach life.”

“The more you value yourself, the more you can offer to the world,” Pastor Kankam concluded. “The best sacrifice you can make is the one that brings you closer to becoming the best version of yourself. Take care of yourself, nurture your spirit, and build your future. You deserve it.”

His inspiring words on Food for Thoughts serve as a timely reminder to prioritize ourselves, add value to our lives, and always remember that taking care of ourselves is not a selfish act, but one that empowers us to be our best for others.

Food For Thoughts is aired on Kessben 93.3FM in Kumasi and streamed across YouTube and Facebook between 5:30 am to 6 am every weekday and 6:30 am on Saturdays.
