East Legon accident: Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son jailed 6 months
Salifu Amoako’s adolescent son was found guilty of the manslaughter of two individuals in a horrific event in East Legon and was given a six-month term at the Senior Correctional Center.
The kid was found guilty of manslaughter when he crashed into another car, instantly killing two passengers.
The teenager had first entered a not guilty plea to charges of homicide, reckless driving, driving without a license, and carelessly inflicting hurt.
But he later pleaded guilty, which resulted in his conviction.
The teen was sentenced by the court to appear before probation authorities every two weeks. Additionally, he has been instructed to sign a pledge to abstain from driving until he is 18.
The teen’s parents were penalized 500 penalty units each (GHc 6,000) in a different verdict for failing to adequately watch over their kid.
They were also told to cover the cost of the accident’s damages, which included a GHc 8,000 light pole.
