Misgoverned for Eight Years: Solomon Anane Urges Ghanaians to Vote for Change

Solomon Anane, a member of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Team of the NDC, made a bold statement on the Kessben Maakye Show, declaring that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is hyper-incompetent and that Ghanaians should vote for change.

According to Anane, under His Excellency Akufo-Addo’s government, the cost of living has reached unprecedented levels compared to former President John Mahama’s regime. He highlighted that the dollar rate, which was 4 cedis in 2016, has now increased to 17 cedis.

Furthermore, he stressed that the NPP has been reckless, borrowing close to 800 million dollars, with the inflation rate rising to 15%.

He claimed that “if it was just about getting loans to govern the country, then Akua Donkoh could have been president a long time ago. Even madmen could have led the nation.”

In addition, he criticized the NPP for using semantics to lead and convince Ghanaians, pointing out that the prices of goods have skyrocketed.

He lamented that foodstuffs have become expensive, leading to an increase in the prices of common goods, including a ball of kenkey, fried fish, and fried yam, among others

“The real definition of incompetency can be found in this administration, calling it a typical example. He said
It took us three years to plan Kejetia, demonstrating our good intentions for the Ashantis. However, this dream was cut short by the aftermath of the 2016 elections, when the NPP won.” Anane mentioned.

Moreover, he accused the NPP of changing their plan by merely completing the Kejetia Market while leaving the Central Market incomplete for eight years.

Anane also noted that the NPP has never started any hospital projects. Per his research, he claimed that all the hospitals, including the one in Drobonso, were not initiated by the NPP.

He claimed that all agreements on the hospitals were concluded in July 2016. The only projects the NPP has begun are under the Agenda 111 initiative.

In conclusion, Anane stated that every Ghanaian believes they have been misgoverned for the past eight years and urged them to vote for John Mahama on the 7th of December 2024.
