The former Asante Kotoko midfielder who is fondly remembered for his last-minute screamer-goal vs Accra Hearts of Oak in 2012/13 says playing as a player, playing in this fixture can make or unmake you.
Speaking on Kessben FM Extra Time sports, Akufo urged Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak players not only to focus on team training but ought to be more serious also with personal training for better growth and development.
Akufo sees the fixture between Kotoko and Hearts as a fine opportunity for players to write their names with gold in the memory of the fans of the two greatest Ghanaian football clubs.
Kotoko will host Accra Hearts of Oak on matchday 31 of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
In the first round, Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak by 3-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium where Hearts played as hosts.
