“We’re creating plenty of chances, but converting them has been our Achilles’ heel” – Kotoko coach Ogum
One of Kotoko’s biggest problems this season, according to coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, has been the team’s inconsistency in scoring goals.
Steven Mukwala’s goal in the 22nd minute gave Kotoko an early lead over Medeama SC on Matchday 28, but they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw. In the 57th minute, Medeama equalized through a penalty kick from Diawisie Taylor.
Thinking back on the game and the team’s continuous goal-scoring problems, Ogum acknowledged that Kotoko has consistently struggled to turn opportunities into goals.
“We’re creating plenty of opportunities, but converting them has been our Achilles’ heel,” Ogum remarked. “Interestingly, our training sessions have seen the net bulge quite frequently. However, the transition from training to the match arena brings about different dynamics in pace and pressure.” He said.
