The Black Challenge Welcomes Foreign Based Players For Effective Preparation For AAFCON 2024 In Cairo Egypt
The Ghana National Amputee Football team, the Black Challenge has made fervent preparations towards the participation in the upcoming 2024 African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) to kick start in Cairo Egypt from 19th to 28th April 2024
As part of the preparations in Accra, the team have engage all foreign based and local players dubbed “Akwaaba to camp-road to Cairo Egypt 2024” in a friendly march at Achimota Mile 7 astro turf to adequately prepare for the tournament.
Speaking to the media before the march, The Head Coach of the team, Mr. Stephen Richard Obeng called on Ghanaians to support the team to enable them defend the cup since they are the ranking champions.
He said the team will need support from Corporate Ghana and therefore called on Government and other institutions to support the team in cash or in kind, adding that a lot of resources have been sunked into the team and therefore called on all to come to the aid of the team.
He again expressed his gratitude to government particularly the sports ministry for their unflinching support when the tournament was held in Ghana and the commitment exhibited by stakeholders in the sports fraternity.
The Duty General Secretary of Ghana supporters Eliasu Abubakar said the team is in high spirit as preparations are far advancing and assured Ghanaians that the team will defend the cup and bring it home and urged all to come on board to support in diverse ways.
The Captain of the team, Richard Arthur Opentil thanked Twellium Industrial Company Limited for their continuous immensed contributions and support towards the team.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rama Vision, Ofeibea Ramatu commended the team for raising the flag of Ghana to the international world and thanked the supporters body for gracing the occasion with musical tunes.
