Just In: John Mahama chooses Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for 2024 elections
Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is the running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 presidential election.
In the 2020 election, former President John Dramani Mahama was coupled with Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, the former Minister of Education.
On February 27, 2024, the head of the NDC formally presented the party’s Council of Elders with his candidacy for running mate.
The NDC Constitution’s Article 45 was followed throughout the nomination process, according to a statement signed by the party’s general secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
Mr. Kwetey also revealed that the party’s Council of Elders will discuss the nomination at a meeting set for Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11 a.m.
“The NDC is confident that the Running Mate will bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and dedication to our campaign.” Mr Kwetey said.
“We express our sincere gratitude to our supporters for their steadfast loyalty and unwavering commitment. Together, let us join hands and embark on this journey towards a brighter future for Ghana,” he added.
