National best farmer to be announced at the 39th National Farmers’ Day celebration in Tarkwa today
Today, December 1, 2023, marks the 39th National Farmers’ Day event, which takes place at the University of Mines and Technology in Tarkwa, Western Region.
The event, with the theme “Delivering smart solutions for sustainable food security and resilience,” aims to highlight the significance of sustainable agricultural practices, honor the efforts of farmers, and discuss issues that the agriculture industry faces.
An Agricultural Fair and a Grand Durbar were held throughout the five-day event, giving farmers a chance to network and discover new inventions and technologies.
The program will end with a banquet that the award recipients and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will grace as special guests.
Honors such as Overall National Best Farmer, National Best Livestock Farmer, and National Best Cocoa Farmer, among others, will be given to deserving farmers and fishermen in a number of categories.
