NPP’s Silence on Bawumia as the “Economic Messiah” Indicates Failure in Economic Management – Lawyer Abass

During a live broadcast on Kessben TV’s “The Punch,” Lawyer Abass Nurudeen, the Ashanti Regional Communication Officer for the NDC, pointed out that his opponent, Ishaq Kyei Brobbey, consistently referred to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the “digital man” instead of the “economic messiah” he was portrayed as since 2008.
Lawyer Abass argued that Brobbey’s reluctance to praise Bawumia as the “economic messiah” was a clear sign that the Vice President and his administration had failed to manage the economy effectively.
He further stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) no longer perceives the economy as a strong platform to promote its candidate and policies.
Abass noted that recent elections in the United States reflect a desire for change and a reset, drawing parallels to the United Kingdom, where voters chose a new direction by voting against the Conservative Party.
He highlighted that Donald Trump’s victory was largely driven by his promises to address high taxes and the rising cost of living, seeking economic change.
The Ashanti Regional NDC Communication Officer emphasized that Ghanaians’ only hope now is to vote out those who have led the economy into hardship. He argued that the current leadership cannot be trusted to resolve the problems they created and urged voters to choose the National Democratic Congress in the upcoming December polls.
Lawyer Abass compared this year’s American elections to Ghana’s impending vote, noting similarities in the leading parties’ policies in both countries. He predicted that Ghana’s upcoming election would also focus heavily on economic issues, similar to the recent elections in the USA and the UK.
