RT Ref Kalla refutes claims by King Faisal supporters being a middleman of a bribe to Referee
On Sunday, February 19, 2023, King Faisal lost 1-0 at home to Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League.
Following the game, several King supporters claimed that the away team bribed the referee, robbing them of victory.
They named retired referee Owusu Mensah Kallah as the middleman who delivered the money to the referee in charge of the game.
According to the disgruntled King Faisal supporters, the manipulated referee denied them four goals that would have won the game.
Retired referee Owusu Mensah Kallah speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action sports show sharply rubbished the claims stressing he had no engagement whatsoever with the match day 18 game between King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea.
The game was King Faisal’s debut game at Dr. Kwame Kyei Complex, their new home.
The defeat leaves the Insha Allah boys in the relegation zone (16th position) with 20 points after 18 games.
