Bondholders & Ghana’s debt impasse: You don’t spend monies that’s not yours & also borrow money to build a house – Kwabena Agyapong tells Gov’t

Ing Kwabena Agyapong has stressed that those who created the mess amid the impasse between individual bondholders and Ghana’s debt restructuring program must be made to face the consequences.

The former press secretary of the president Kuffour’s Government speaking in an interview on Kessben TV with Kwame Appiah Kubi reiterated that the people(Individual bondholders) should not in any way be made to carry the burden of the consequences today.

Ing Kwabena Agyapong reckons it is not logical in life to use to overspend monies that do not belong to you stressing that it is out of place to borrow money to build a house.

He blamed the mess on the lack of discipline in matters of finances which resulted in the mess created.

“The most important thing is economic discipline.

In life you don’t spend monies that’s not yours. Yes, there have been infrastructural developments and other programmes by Government but you ask yourself that is there value for money?

In life you don’t borrow money to build a house. You build a house with the revenue/profit from your business.

The people should not be made to carry the burden of the consequences today” He said.
