We pay for street lights but there are no lights on the streets – Mr. Speaker bemoans

The host of Kessben FM/TV Maakye, Kwame Appiah Kubi aka Mr. Speaker has expressed grieve over the prevailing darkness in the principal streets in the nation’s capital, Accra.

Addressing the prevalence of the situation, Kwame Appiah Kubi questioned what the street light levy is used for.

The situation has given a boost to criminals who have taken advantage of the lack of streets lights on the principal streets.

Walking and driving in the night continues to be precarious due as these criminals who are armed consistently attack people and take their belongings.

The purpose of taking the streets lights levy appears not to be fully utilized. Replacing blown bulbs on the streets continues to be a major problem.
