If Akufo in his wisdom thinks IMF is the rescue he should go but I don’t support that – Dr Ayisi Boateng
Leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Ayisi Boateng has conceded that the Ghana economy is in crumbling times.
Despite the tough times, the renowned diplomat reckons Ghana heading to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will not be a good option presently considering the conditionalities that come with it.
According to him, much focus should be channelled to home-grown policies to generate revenue for the country.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Dr. Ayisi Boateng noted that despite the hard times, he would not advocate for the NPP Government to resort to IMF.
He stressed that the economy is not broken but has only taken a bent which has a high likelihood of fixing with suitable measures taken.
