Ghana Tech Lab (GTL) Organizes Stakeholder Sensitisation On The Role Of Data Science In Ghana
The event which was termed “The Role of Data Science in Transforming the Local Economy Development in Ghana “ is to create and provide an alternative means of employment for young people and demonstrating the potential to accelerate digital transformation in Ghana. The motive behind this innovation is create opportunities for the youth through the use of data science and also help in reducing the unemployment situation in the country.
Ghana makes every strive to move the nation forward in the economic developments and also by making work and communication more easier through the use of Data Science. In view of this, GTL organised an innovation programs and work shop with the aim of engaging stakeholders and participants to bring ideas in promoting Data Science in the country , to help know the work one can do and impact others especially at a national level and integrate data science in decision-making.
Speaking at the program at the GTL campus at Pokuase, the Research Associate of GTL Mr. Selorm Ayikoe, stated the importance of data science in the 21st century which has made communication and work more easier across the Globe.
Mr Ayikoe also stated that, the vision of GTL is to train more people especially women into data science because they believe that the more women are trained the more trained people we have in the generation yet on born and for network purposes.
He also mentioned that, data science plays a very important role in our lives and in the monetary space. “Through data science, we are able to know the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the country and across the world” he said.
Participants of the stakeholders meeting were grouped into 6 various pillars with their leaders called to share ideas and learn more about data science.
