NPP: Elections of Ashanti regional executives postponed as venue moved to Baba Yara stadium
The Ashanti regional executives elections of the New Patriotic Party have been postponed until further notice, the Kessben Newsroom has gathered.
This follows after some contestants for the regional chairmanship position complained about the unavailability of the voters’ registers.
With few days before the elections, the voter album which ought to have been available for scrutiny has not been provided by the organisers of the elections.
Some aspirants alleged that it was a deliberate scheme by some current executives to ensure the incumbent chairman Wontumi is reatined.
The contestants are demanding that they need ample time to properly examine they voter album before they go into the elections.
Reports are that the elections would be rescheduled for Saturday 29th May 2022. The venue of the elections which had been the Regional Coordinating Council has also been moved to the Baba Yara stadium.
