Alban Bagbin deliberately excused himself to push the agenda of the minority – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says it was a deliberate move by the speaker of parliament Alban Bagbin to have excused himself for first deputy speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu to sit in yesterday 19th December on the floor of parliament.

According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the speaker of parliament did so to create the balance the minority wanted for the proposed E-levy tax not to be passed.

The sitting ended abruptly following a physical clash between the minority and the majority on the floor after the first deputy speaker of parliament, Joe Wise took over from Alban Bagbin.

Minister of sports and Member of parliament for Yagaba-Kubori Constituency in the North East, Hon. Ussif Mustapha was reported to have been cut by a razor blade during the exchanges.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah speaking on Breaking News with Akuoko Kwarteng indicated that it was a planned move by the speaker of parliament.
