Armed robbers exchanged gunshots with gold dealers at Adaboa, near Upper Denkyira west in the Central region resulting in the death of 3 people with 1 in critical condition.
The armed men laid ambushed on the small-scale miners a few minutes after they left their mining site according to eye witness report.
According to Kessben FM’s central region reporter, the armed men who were riding a motorbike crossed the miners at the Adaboa junction and started shooting.
The miners who also had guns on them retaliated with more gunshots at the robbers. The driver of the mining vehicle died with the person who was sitting with him at the front.
One of the robbers also died with the other robber currently in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
