I have never influenced Black Stars call-up & I dare any coach to come out – Kurt Okraku
President of the Ghana football association, Kurt E.S Okraku has said he’s never influenced a national team call-up ever since he was voted as the president of the Ghana Football Association.
Most Ghanaians hold a notion that the Ghana football association always have a say in the players’ selections to the various national teams by influencing call-ups made by coaches but Kurt has denied those assertions.
Pasts GFA presidents have always been accused by the masses of selecting their preferred footballers who are connected to their respective agencies. Since Kurt took over as the GFA president, the narrative has not changed. Sections of Ghanaian sports journalists and football fans have alleged that Kurt has been influencing player call-ups to the national teams.
A section of Ghanaians football journalists believed CK Akonnor who on Monday was sacked by the GFA as the Black Stars coach was imposed with players by Kurt Okraku’s FA.
But the GFA president in a private telephone conversation with Kessben FM’s Michael Oheneba Nyame after the sacking of CK Akonnor has categorically stated that he’s never influenced a player selection for any national team.
Kurt Okraku who noted in the conversation with the sports journalist dared any coach to come out if he’s ever influenced his/her national team player call up.
