Nigerians are on my neck to naturalize for them – Nana Bonsu

Nana Bonsu, a Ghanaian footballer has revealed that the Nigerian football federation has made attempts to naturalize him to play for the Nigerian national football team.

Nana Bonsu has been outstanding goalkeeper since joining Nigerian side Enugu rangers. The former Ashantigold goalkeeper speaking on Kessben TV (Final-Whistle), divulged that he has been approached severally to naturalize for Nigeria in order to play for their national team.

The goalkeeper disclosed that at a point in the negotiations, he nearly sealed his naturalization process with Nigerian to play for them. “They want me to naturalize for them so that I can play for their national team. They have contacted me several times. Initially, when they contacted me, I asked them what they will provide for me, we almost completed the process of naturalization but had to back off later” He said.

Enugu rangers won the Nigerian premier league for the first time in 32 years after Nana Bonsu joined the club. The goalkeeper added that he’s not very much perturbed for not having a call-up into the Ghana senior national despite his performance. “I used to be worried about not earning a call up in the Ghana national football team but right now I’m OK after speaking to some people, my mind is not really on that much and not worried again, if they invite, I will honour, if they do not, I’m OK” He stressed.
