Kotoko Should Apologize for Manhandling a journalist at Len Clay Stadium – GFA General Secretary

“I expect Kotoko to apologize to the football fraternity for bundling a journalist out of Len Clay Stadium after saying penalty awarded against Karela Utd was a wrong call.”

“No club has the right to eject any sports journalists from a match venue”.

These were the words of the General Secretary for the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Prosper Harrison Addo when he spoke on Kessben 93.3 FM sports with Joe Laka.

The Porcupine Warriors hosted Karela United at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the matchday 30 games on Wednesday. Skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the first goal for the home side but Diawisie Taylor scored for Karela United. However, Evans Adomako was brought down in the 18-yard box by the goalkeeper, Richard Baidoo on the 71st.

Brazil import, Fabio Gama made no mistake by planting the ball behind Richard Baidoo for Kotoko’s winner in the 72nd minute. However, a sports journalist who was reporting for MAX FM in Accra during the course of his reports said the decision by the referee was a wrong decision.

The comments by the journalist did not go down well with the supporters of the club. Kotoko supporters bundled the journalist out from the stadium.

The action by the supporters has been criticized by the football circles and Mr Addo has charged the club to apologize to the football fraternity insisting no club has the right to bundle any journalist from any stadia.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hosted by Hearts of Oak in the matchday 31 games on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
