Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue completed 90 minutes for Sunderland’s Under-21s on Monday night as he steps up his bid to earn a contract.
The Ivorian, who has been training with Sam Allardyce’s side in recent weeks, played the whole game as the Black Cats lost 1-0 to Leicester.
Eboue, who made 132 Premier League appearances over six years with Arsenal, has been without a club since leaving Galatasaray in the summer.
However, a permanent return to England could be on the cards as Allardyce weighs up whether to hand him a deal with the north east club.
