Nana Aba Anamoah suspended for pulling "prank" on fans

TV3 news anchor and presenter, Nana Aba Anamoah, has been suspended for pulling on a “prank” on her fans on social media.
Her suspension follows internal investigations carried out by her employers, TV3 Network Limited, after social media was over the week flooded with images of the presenter edited into other photographs other than hers suggesting she has been at those places.
Nana Aba last Sunday published a photograph on Twitter suggesting she was at a Manchester United football game in London.
The picture however happened to belong to another person, who after seeing that he had been cropped out of the photograph subsequently released other photos to show that the photos belonged to him and not Nana Aba.
Social media fanatics mocked the TV by publishing several pictures with her edited into them to suggest she has been at several locations at different times.
But Nana Aba on Thursday apologised to her fans on Twitter saying the post was only a prank and that it was not her intention to steal someone’s pictures.
That notwithstanding, the management of TV3 Saturday evening released a statement saying it had taken serious the recent media reportage relating to the way and manner Nana Aba Anamoah carried herself on various social media platforms.
The statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Augustus B. Dickson described Nana Aba’s conduct as “unprofessional” and not in line with the values and standards of the TV3.
It said, “TV3 has taken a serious view of the recent media reportage relating to its news anchor, producer and presenter Ms Nana Aba Anamoah and the alleged online information theft and other unprofessional misrepresentations which have flooded social media and other media in the past one week.”
The statement added that, after preliminary investigations internally, the management had decided to take Nana Aba off air until further notice.
