Prez Mahama won’t be living in Flagstaff House – Ayariga

President John Mahama will not be moving into his official residence at the Flagstaff House anytime soon.
Some Ghanaians had expected him to begin living in the iconic after it was announced that the seat of government would move from the Castle
On Tuesday February 5, 2013, Information Minister Mahama Ayariga announced that the seat of government would officially move from the Castle in Osu to the Flagstaff House on Thursday, 7th February, 2013, from which time formal government business will be conducted there.
The move sparked speculation that the president would also relocate his living quarters to the iconic House.
However, speaking on “The Big Stories” segment of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Wednesday, however, Mr. Ayariga clarified that the president will not be residing in the Flagstaff House.
He said that government would “make indications later” should the president decide to inhabit the presidential abode.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ayariga reported that much has been done to address security issues that would have made it imprudent to relocate the president to the Flagstaff House.
