Judicial scandal: Justice Dery drags AICC to court over video premiere

Indicted High court judge Justice Paul Peter Dery has filed a suit seeking to stop the Accra International Conference Center from showing the video which allegedly captures some Ghanaian judges taking bribes.

Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas who embarked on the undercover work has announced that the video of the corruption in the judiciary will be shown at the Conference Center on September 22 and 23.

But the latest suit by Dery has been targeted at the Director of Estates and General Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Manager of the Accra International Conference Centre and the Attorney-General.

“Order restraining the Defendants, their privies and assigns from carrying out or making the Accra International Conference Centre available for the intended public screening of the said illegally and unlawfully procured audio-visual recordings on the 22nd and 23rd of September, 2015,” the suit read.

The High court judge in an earlier suit argued that the video that allegedly exposes the corrupt practices of he and his colleagues was produced illegally and therefore must not be used against them.
