Nana Akufo-Addo and his running mate Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, will lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday to address the nation on the party’s push for a new voters’ register for the 2016 general elections .
The highlight of the event will be a presentation by Dr. Bawumia, to according to them, expose the flaws in current register.
Before the presentation at a news conference in Accra in the morning, the General Secretary of the Party, Kwabena Agyepong, and Dr. Bawumia, will present a document at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission to its Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei.
This comprehensive document sources say, contains the evidence of the NPP’s case for a new register, including the evidence of their findings.
Meanwhile the General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says any attempt to replace the current voters’ register may open the floodgates for the register to be compromised.
