A-Plus throws more light on Celebrities, IGP meeting (Video)

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare met with Creative Arts industry players on Wednesday at the Police Conference hall in Accra.

Kwame Asare Obeng, commonly known as A-Plus speaking after the meeting with the IGP described the meeting as a good move especially to have dedicated time to listen to the concerns of the Creative Arts stakeholders.

Speaking on Maakye’ with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye, he mentioned that, the police management board gave a listening ear to the creative art industry to express concerns which he reckons are relevant.

According to him, during the meeting, he drew the attention of the police management about the issue of bailable offences which are often stretched.

He noted when one is arrested and the offence committed is bailable and sent to court, the police should not push the court to remand the person because the offender would not escape — relating it to that of Shatta Wale.

He stated that Ghanaian citizens should be reminded of the copyrights law since most musicians do not really gain from what they worked for.

He has advised the creative art industry to come together and push for a common goal.
