The former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sir John, has said that he remains the only candidate who stood for an election, lost badly but was never embittered.
Kwodwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John was speaking on TV3’s New Day on Monday.
The NPP fire brand was today reacting to the fact that some incumbent MPs who lost out in the NPP primaries are complaining bitterly in the media.
” Elections are not a do or die affair…it’s not a matter of life and death. When you win, fine, if you don’t move on and support the worthy cause of the party.”
Commenting on the Justice Dzamefe report he said government deliberately focused all attention on the NPP primaries and the Accra floods so as to make Ghanaians forget about the rot that occurred during the World Cup.
“The President and his cabinet didn’t want Ghanaians to talk about the Commission’s report, so he deliberately made the NPP primaries his headache. But I can tell you, Ghanaians haven’t for a second forgotten about it. White paper or not, this report must be investigated.”
He later called on all party members to rally faithfully behind the NPP for victory come 2016.
