IGP commissions new ultra-modern hall in Kumasi
The Ashanti Regional Police Command commissioned their new ultra-modern conference hall at the central police headquarters in Adum on Wednesday, November 26.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the inspector-general of police Alhassan Amed Mohammed, deputy regional minister Joseph Yamin, the regional Chief Imam and members of the clergy.
The event’s host, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, giving his account on his nine and half years tenure since he assumed command said he thought it wise to give his station a facelift and first decided on a conference hall.
He added that he later he solicited funds for motorbikes to help increase mobile visibility in the region. Mr Boakye also asked the people present to assist the police to put up a 20-bed clinic.
Deputy Regional Minister Joseph Yamin commended the work of the police and said he was surprised to see the completion of the facility within a few months and quoted that ” innovation is when the status quo is changed”.
The Asantehene said DCOP Boakye has fulfilled his promise of enforcing law and order in Ashanti.
