Ghana has stopped working – Matthew Opoku Prempeh

Manhyia South lawmaker, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in an exclusive interview with Citi News has stated that Ghana is a state that has stopped working.

In his opinion, the situation was as a result of a combination of what he called a “clueless and bankrupt leadership, appalling presidential appointments and failed presidential advisors.”

Speaking after Friday’s parliamentary proceedings, during which no public business was transacted beyond MPs correcting votes and proceedings of previous sittings, Dr. Opoku Prempeh stated that it was a big waste of public time and resources to have recalled MPs when government was not ready to use the House.

According to him, “never has it so happened that Parliament is sitting and there is no agenda for the last two weeks. It’s baffling; it is really, really baffling. If it’s a microcosmic of what is happening in the country, then we must really, really and ask our governance what they are doing to this country.”

“It is really ridiculous that we seem to be governed by governors we don’t know; who are either not in charge or who have no idea of what is happening. It’s an absolute waste of Ghana’s time…every country should prepare itself for betterment but Ghana is wasting theirs by standing still or retrogressing,” he added.
