Baba Rahman & Andy Yiadom relegated from English Championship with Reading

Baba Rahman and Andy Yiadom, both defenders with the Black Stars, have been relegated with Reading from the English Championship.

After playing 45 matches this season, Reading FC are 2nd from bottom on the league standings with 44 points.

Nothing will change even if Reading wins the final game of the season because there is just one game left until the season ends and they are four points behind Cardiff, the team in the safe zone.

Reading will play in the third tier for the first time in 21 years as a result of their relegation. They last competed in the then-named Division Two during the 2001–2002 season.

Following a prior violation of the EFL’s profitability and sustainability rules, Reading was immediately docked six points for exceeding agreed-upon budgetary restrictions.

The penalty is related to the club’s failure to adhere to the requirements of a business plan adopted after a violation of the sustainability and profit restrictions in 2021.

Six points were initially deducted as a punishment for the initial violation, and another six points were suspended until the start of the current season.

Due to the breach, the Royals have also been subject to a transfer embargo since the summer of 2021.
