Minority to attend Mahama's address against party directive

The Minority in Parliament will, in defiance to the party’s directive, attend President John Mahama’s state of the nation address, Thursday.
The party leadership directed the minority caucus to sit out of the address in protest over the conduct of the 2012 elections.
The party is contesting at the Supreme Court the results of the 2012 elections which it claims is fraught with many irregularities.
Its leadership has therefore directed the MPs to boycott anything directly related to the presidency.
The MPs boycotted the vetting of Ministers appointed by President John Mahama, amidst criticisms from the general public.
There were initial reports that the MPs will again boycott Parliament when the president appears to present his State of the Nation Address.
But after a caucus meeting on Wednesday, the Minority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu told Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey “we will see the members in the House tomorrow.”
Brobbey said the caucus will be meeting the party leadership later in the day to communicate their decision to them.
