Kotoko cannot achieve anything in Africa if they rely on their current players – Stephen Manu

Former Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Manu has emphatically stated that his former club cannot make any significant impact in the African club competition if they are to rely on homegrown players.

Stephen Manu insists to make a positive impact in the African club competition, there should be well-experienced footballers in the team who have played outside Ghana.

Speaking on Extra Time with Tony Montana on Kessben TV, Stephen Manu stressed that there is no way such inexperienced players of Asante Kotoko can go out there to achieve greatness in the African club competition.

He urged the management of the club to at least get some experienced footballers who have played at that level before they think about achieving well in Africa.

“The performance of the team way down. If they want to do well in Africa they have to invest well by getting some experienced players who have played outside Ghana in the team. If they rely on the local players they have currently, we can’t achieve anything in Africa” Manu said.
